For reasons I can’t exactly explain, I enjoy hoaxing the media occasionally. As a boy, I was intrigued by the notion that one could simply make up a story and get it in the newspaper or on the TV news. One of my boyhood heroes was Alan Abel, a well-known media hoaxer who has since become a friend.

I know a lot of people would find this an odd choice of avocation but that’s how I look at something like stamp collecting. I just can’t see what interests people in that. At least with MY “hobby,” I have press clippings and videotape of myself I can look at and show to my kids.

To date, I have been seen on the Today Show, Good Morning, America, Oprah, Lie Detector and many other local and national TV shows. I have also been written about in Time, Life and People magazines, along with U.S. News and World Report, USA Today (several times) and just about every major newspaper in America. Not bad for a guy you *think* you’ve never heard of, huh?
