Exercising our Great Danes (by: Doug)

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

We have two obebience trained Great Danes, having a segway would be great way to exercise them. The segway being able to go 10MPH would enable them to achieve a faster stride.

Appreciating my thing (by: Ira - Hightstown, NJ)

You brought back memories about my trip cross country with three other friends back in the early 1970’s. We traveled by car, but also met great people and realized what a beautiful country we live in. It also made me re-evaluate my situation and reaffirms what is important in life - not money & career, but family, friends and appreciating the beautiful things in our lives. Thank you!!

I’ve owned a segway for about 3 months. I followed Josh and Hunter when they were doing the trek across america back in 2004. It is so awesome to finally be able to see the film they made. Great job guys. I hope you are all still using your segways. It’s an amazing piece of technology and such an elegant form of transportation.

My thing (by: Anonymous)

So many possibilities, so little time.

We suffer from big government, ineffective government, greed-controlled and bought-and-paid-for government. I’d like to help work to bring it back to, by, for and of the people.

I’d also like to write and start a company bringing a new product to market. There’s nothing wrong with working for a company, but contributing to the inefficiency and mistakes of others seems to be wrong. It’s just not enough…

Walking away from it all (by: Daniel)

I woke up from a car wreck and found out that what I’m really good at is hanging out with my wife. So I quit my job and started a freelance business. My goal is to make just enough money to keep living and hanging out with my friends and family as much as possible. It’s been three months now. I only wish I’d started sooner. My Name is Danny, and my thing is Donna.

Gary Hood Band, Segway Tour ‘07 (by: Anonymous)

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

My thing is to tour the world with my band, The Gary Hood Band,(www.myspace.com/garyhoodandthelastshowever).
I could strap my guitar on my back, and use my Segway as my own personal tour bus.

Inspiring story (by: Elaine)

GREAT job with the film, guys! It turned out beautifully. I’m very glad that I got to meet you on the way and try out that Segway thing!

Just wanted to say that I admire the risk-taking that was involved in your journey torward the completion of 10mph. It is so important to stick to your passions and not to sell out to societal expectations. My thing is MUSIC, and I am happy to say that I have finally reached a point at which I refuse to earn money doing anything that doesn’t represent a step down the path toward greater musicianship. I have recently been happier and more successful than I was before making this decision.

Cheers!

There is a deep feeling of freedom that everyone wants to experience. Some keep it deep inside their soul and never let it come out but it is still there. Some ride motorcycles to feel such a freedom and now the segway can make these dreams come true. I did have a motorcycle that I loved and used to experience the feeling of freedom and to forget the problems of my life. I have an alcoholic daughter and a son that has a mental illness. I would ride my motorcycle and escape for a time. Unfortunately due to money situations, I was forced to sell my motorcycle last year. To actually own a segway and experience this feeling once again would be such a plus in my life. Riding a Segway, I would once again be “doing my thing.!”
