Parking (by: Anonymous)

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

I waste an hour a day parking and walking into work. 1/2 hour in the morning and 1/2 hour at lunch (which is 1/2 my lunch!), including the extra time I have to be early to work to even find a spot and walk to the building so that I’m not fired for being late. I so want one of these to avoid the parking crisis!

I am missing “doing my thing” (by: Lora)

“My thing” used to be adventure, trails, nature, pushing myself over the next hill… just living.
I lost “My thing” 12 years ago with diagnosis of pulmonary hypertension, a chronic lung disease.

I believe I found “My thing” again through 10mph film… I can go where I haven’t been in 12 years! I want a segway!

the kickball commute (by: ryan)

Thursday, June 28th, 2007

The company I work for has both a rec-ed kickball team, and a segway on loan. I’ve decided to combine the two and now I commute to every game on the i2. It garners a lot of looks, comments, and questions which gives me the opportunity to show and talk about this wonderful machine … I even give people test drives during the game!

That film reminds me of my younger years. I used to think that the future would be full of flying vehicles. And wouldn’t ya know it - I was wrong.

Thingless (by: Gary)

Cool film! Makes me wonder where my thing went. I’m sure I had it around here somewhere. Oh well, until I find it and embark on my new career as a llama ranching pottery maker, I’ll have to stay in the cube farm staring at code all day. At least I have fun getting to and from work. I commute 4mi (round trip) on a Segway i2 nearly every day. Life’s too short to be thingless. Gotta keep looking…

Segway as a way of life (by: Shay)

Tuesday, June 19th, 2007

My name is Shay and I currently live in the great state of Texas. In 2001 I heard about “IT”, code named “Ginger” later named “Segway” as most others did thru the media. It wasn’t until 2004 that a relative intruduced me to the actual product in Chicago. After riding the Segway around Chicago, I realized that this was the type of product that would allow me to stay atheletic, promoting the fun aspect of being outdoors. Late in 2004 the company I worked for went thru a company wide pay adjustment which meant a change was necesssary. I immediately gave notice, bought my first Segway and have not looked back since. My Segway tour company now offers daily guided Segway tours with our current fleet of 18 Segways. Thank you 10mph for exposing the public, your video is awesome! Waking up everyday knowing my primary job is to introduce and train new Segway riders via a city tour is unbelievably satisfying and profitable!

Sure it’s not a huge deal, but I just love to ride my SW to work. I save on gas, almost $100 a month, and reduce polution.
