Do Your Dog Thing (by: Steve - Ypsilanti, MI)

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Like Peter from Parker, my wife is a soldier currently in Iraq. So for now she is doing her thing and I do mine. The challenge for me is to get up and do something each and every day. It is easy to just hide away and sulk.

Dogs get it. Every day is a new day.

They are just as excited about today as they were about yesterday. They always want to meet new people, they want to roll around and play in the grass, every meal is a treat, and a nap is always called for in the afternoon.

Not a bad way to live. So do your Dog thing during the day and when you get ready for bed, say a prayer for the safe return of all our soldiers serving overseas.

Cheers!

Be true to me (by: Peter - Parker, CO)

Monday, July 16th, 2007

To me, the film is more about being true to yourself more than anything.

My wife came back totally messed up from Iraq and I still tried to do the corporate job, husband, good dad thing.

Last summer, I was hiking through Glacier National Park with my kids and it dawned on me - none of that really mattered any more.

It took a while, but I quit my job, wrote some novels and a couple of screenplays. I’m trying to teach my kids that the paycheck and the title don’t matter.

Passion about what you do and who you share it with is what matters. I write and I share myself with the people around me.

That’s my thing.

I too drive i2 (by: Igor Kretov - Kiev, NO_EU)

My thing is simply MOVING! Doesn’t matter what you drive - Hummer or bicycle. The main thing is that You MOVE and do not stop. Dean Kamen, Einstein, Steve Jobs - they all MOVED yesterday and rule now. Everyone must MOVE to reach his pesonal target. What is the sense of living? - It’s MOVING.

Seems like Greyhound was doing 10 mph (by: Carl - Stone Mountain, GA)

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

When I was growing up, I would take my Summer vacations in Ohio getting to know my Dad’s family. Getting there was a great adventure for me (starting at age 10) by Greyhound, and I can imagine taking a Segway straightaway (between Chicago and Youngstown) would have gotten me there just as efficiently. lol.

Great job on the film.

Need I2 to herd summer youth computer campers (by: Dwight - Oceanside, CA)

Wednesday, July 11th, 2007

The thing is I have a heck of a dilemma. I am starting a new part time job on Monday, as a computer lab attendant in a summer youth computer camp, called the Digital Media Academy, held on the University of California at San Diego Campus.

link that discusses the need to walk the teens back to the dorms.
http://digitalmediaacademy.org/dnld/SanDiegoYouthCoordinator.pdf

The main duty, second to maintaining the computer lab, and security, is to walk the teens back to the dorms each evening. The distance is over 2.5 miles from the lab. Which bring me to my dilemma. I weight over 200 pounds and may have trouble with the 2.5 miles.

I am not in any shape to walk the campers that far. I have been dreaming of how I can do this one task well, as well as I do in supporting computer labs. I have been dreaming of using a Segway to make the commute with the teens to the dorms, and then back to my car.

So the thing is, I have a great opportunity to work with an excellent summer youth program, at an excellent university, learning new technologies.

I need the use of a Segway, to succeed at this job.

So the ‘thing’ is actually a dilemma.
I would love to, and actually need to, win that I2

My Thing (by: Devin - Schenectady , NY)

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

My thing is film. Film, and music. And independence. All of these, 10MPH brought to the big screen. And by big screen, I mean my local dvd player.

I wasn’t lucky enough to see 10MPH at a festival, or to witness a large audience’s response. But the small audience I was with, certainly appreciated the film.

It consisted of a few of the ‘organic’ people on my college campus. Organic meaning those that part take in the renewable energy, organic foods organizations on campus. Two of them reside in a house called ‘Ozone House’ which does a lot for this cause. We all understood what it meant to “Do Your Thing” and were thrilled to be watching Hunter and Josh do their thing, even when the nasty fuzz didn’t agree. (I thought 40mph was the speed _limit_, not minimum?)

One of us was in preparation for his own cross-country trek: traveling across America on two wheels, powered by thighs of steel. He greatly appreciated seeing the film.

Dog Agility (by: Sandy - Manchester, NH)

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

I have a DVD of the film, and have only watched about half of it so far, but I found it fun - music is great, too.

My two Papillons and I participate in dog agility trials in and around Manchester whenever we can. You can check out one of our runs at:

I have an “antique” Segway, purchased back in 2004. Would love to upgrade to an i2!
